Yorktown police issue warning on Social Security call scam – News 12 Westchester


Yorktown police are issuing a warning about a Social Security scam.

They say crooks are calling people and claiming that their Social Security number has been suspended.

Officials say that anyone who receives the call should not call back the number. They say it’s important to never give out your financial information.

Police say the Social Security Administration will never call and issue threats for not providing personal information.

Anyone who receives the scam call can contact the Social Security Administration’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271.
